5-7-2011 Spain (SB) - The state-owned broadcasting company TVE will not be showing any live bullfights in Spain in future. The station's ruling comes into effect in 2012. The reason for the decision, according to TVE, is that most bullfights take place at a time of day when lots of children are watching television. News reporting on bullfights will continue to be allowed, and the famous Bull Run in Pamplona will still be shown. TVE has not broadcast any live bullfights for four years, though up to now they have given high costs and declining viewing figures as the reason.
