The OAPN (Organismo Autónomo Parques Nacionales), who are also responsible for the National park, are offering free guided tours twice a week to La Graciosa. On Tuesdays the tour is available in Spanish, and on Thursdays it is available in English. Both days the tours begin at 8.30am and finish at 4.30pm. Every Saturday there is a four hour guided walking tour on the island of La Graciosa. The route crosses between the centre of the island and down to the south of the island. La Graciosa is a sister island situated 2km off the top of northern Lanzarote. The island is part of a natural reserve protection area (Parque Natural del Archipiélago Chinijo) and has a population of 700 people. The tours are in association with the Teguise town hall cabildo. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday the Centro de Visitantes de Timanfaya organises a walk of around three hours‘ duration in the conservation area of the Timanfaya National Park, known as the Tremesana trail. In small groups of up to 8 people the participants experience an incomparable natural spectacle.
The walk is organised by the National Park administration and is led by trained hiking guides speaking English or Spanish, and is unique, informative and free of charge. Please book on the internet page www.reservasparquesnacionales.es
