02/10/2012 Lanzarote (BG) - Midfield force Vladimir has been permanently dismissed from the UD Lanzarote playing squad due to a breach of club discipline at the weekend. Defender Carlos Rosa has also been temporarily suspended from the squad after “breaching the internal rules of the club”, according to a press release issued earlier today.
A statement read: “Vladimir has committed a serious breach of club discipline and that is the primary reason behind the decision to dismiss him from UD Lanzarote”. “Carlos Rosa has been temporarily suspended and will train on his own for a number of days while the coaching staff decide when to reintroduce him to group practice sessions” the statement added.
The statement refers to events that occurred on Friday night as Vladimir indulged in a ‘karaoke’ session and did not return home until 02.30am on Saturday morning, well after the 12.00am (midnight) deadline specified by the club.
The midfielder had admitted full responsibility for the “mistake” and “respects” the decision taken by the club. He will now train with Haria FC for the foreseeable future as he takes time to consider his options.
Meanwhile the club said in the statement that the dismissal of Vladimir and the disciplinary action afforded to Carlos Rosa are not to be taken lightly. The statement revealed: “The coaching staff and board of UD Lanzarote want to make clear that they will not tolerate any breach of club discipline that may affect the good atmosphere in the dressing room of the first team of UD Lanzarote”.
The club added that “a good squad of players and a good atmosphere in the dressing room are two requirements necessary to ensure the proper functioning of any football team, a good atmosphere like the one that has been disrupted within UD Lanzarote over the last few days. These disruptive actions have to be nipped in the bud by the coaching staff with the support of the board of the club”.
Vladimir has been a regular fro UD Lanzarote over the years and has started three games so far this season, getting sent off during the weekend’s defeat against San Pedro Martir. Carlos Rosa has featured in four games for UD Lanzarote already this season, starting three and appearing as a substitute in another.
