04/05/2012 Lanzarote/Canary Islands (BG) Unemployment on Lanzarote fell for the third consecutive month in August, but only by 88 people, according to data released today by the Government of the Canary Islands.
At present, there are some 17,729 people unemployed on the island compared to 17,817 in July. The number of unemployed on the Island during June stood at 17,870 while in May the figure recorded was 18,152.
The unemployment rate of the Canary Islands has also fallen by 0.39%, the second largest decline nationwide during the month of August. There are currently 288,666 people unemployed on the Canary Islands.
