08/08/2012 Lanzarote (BG) - Some of Lanzarote’s most renowned tourist landmarks will be broadcast for all of Spain to see this weekend during TV Cuatro’s summer programme “Ola Ola”. The breathtaking Cueva de los Verdes, César Manrique designed Jameos del Agua and the beach of El Reducto are amongst a number of Lanzarote attractions that will be featured during the programme that airs this coming Sunday, the 12th of August, at 20.30h.
Journalist Sara Gates, accompanied by cameraman Juan Antonio Campos, travelled to Lanzarote at the beginning of June with the intention of filming some of Lanzarote’s leading bathing locations. Among some of the places they planned on visiting were the beaches of Puerto del Carmen, Papagayo, Famara, Playa Blanca, Los Charcones, El Reducto and La Graciosa. Aditionally, “on the request of the director of the programme”, they were to visit Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua, although both are not classed as public bathing locations.
In the show to be broadcast on Sunday, Gates heads on a guided tour through the Cueva de los Verdes, showing viewers on one of Spain’s most attractive landmarks while gathering the opinions of a group of impressed visitors.
Carmen Steinert, Minister for Tourism of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, stressed the “importance of such television shows that illustrate the uniqueness of Lanzarote and promote it as a holiday destination within the domestic market”.
