10/05/2012 Lanzarote (KMC) - The Cabildo de Lanzarote has extended its working hours and now will remain open for half an hour longer. The doors of the building will now open at 7.45am and close at 3.15pm. However this is not the only change, from 7th June, the Cabildo will also be open to the public every Thursday afternoon from 5pm to 7.30pm. The Servicio de Atención and the Ciudadano y Registro Oficial de la institución (Citizens Advice Service and Official Register of the institution) will continue to open on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.
The changes reflect the new legislation on working hours for public employees, which must not be less than 37.3 hours per week.
The measure was proposed by the Governing Council and agreed by the General Negotiating council, held on April 25th, 2012.
A spokesperson for the Cabildo said:
“The new organisation of working time provides a margin of flexibility, which shall be addressed by departments, responding to the needs of reconciling family and working staff. This is why in order to accommodate our employees we have left a margin of time, until the 7th June, before the evening hours begin on Thursdays.”
