20/04/2012 Lanzarote (KMC) - There are two very different but exciting events occurring in Lanzarote over the next couple of days. The first is the annual Rallysprint Guatiza motor-racing event on Saturday 21st April. The event is organised by the Ayuntamiento of Teguise and Federación de Automovilismo de las Palmas (FALP) and nineteen motor sport teams from Escudería Racing Tías will be competing. The roads Calle Tarajal, Avenida de Alfonso Tolosa and Avenida de la Garafía will be closed to normal traffic from 12.15pm and the race itself begins at 1.00pm.
For those that prefer to relax with a good book, Monday 23rd April is the Dia Internacional del Libro or International book day. On Friday 19th of April, the new municipal library in Playa Blanca will be inaugurated at 7.30pm and on Saturday 20th April, in the Plaza de Playa Blanca there will be various events including reading sessions and a book fair starting from 11.00am and lasting until 6.30pm.
At Teguise market, on Sunday 22nd April, there will be a stall where books can be donated and exchanged in collaboration with SARA, (Asociación de Animales y Protectora Plantas). Following this on Monday 23rd April, there will be an open door reading session at the IES secondary school in Teguise from 10.00am to 2.00pm and from 11.00am to 1.30pm there will be a book fair on the promenade of Playa Las Cucharas in Costa Teguise.
