02/02/2012 Lanzarote (KMC) - Fernando Alonso left Lanzarote last night after a weeks training at a special fitness camp. He was joined by Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa and Ferrari young drivers Jules Bianchi and Davide Rigon.
While staying at the La Santa sporting resort, the team participated in a number of activities all over the island, including mountain biking, football, tennis and canoeing.
On their official website the team explained:
“The Lanzarote course was not only aimed at improving physical condition which is absolutely vital in a demanding sport like formula one. But it was also an important exercise in team building, both because the competitive nature inherent in drivers made them work harder and in the right spirit and also because, spending time together reinforces the friendship between them.”
The drivers have returned to Maranello in northern Italy to continue their pre-season preparations; however the planned unveiling of a new car has been cancelled due to heavy snowfall in the region.
